Nakada Design conceptualized an exclusive brand identity for a specialty import company that sources ceramics, pottery, cultural artifacts, handmade textiles, woodwork, timeless antiques and luxurious rugs from artisans around the globe. These are rare objects that are destined to become cherished heirlooms.

Envisioning more than a brand, we asked how we could enable fans to be apart of a remarkable community. Our answer was to build the brand to become a nexus point for those passionate connoisseurs who find joy in meticulously sourced, carefully crafted goods from far away lands. It will especially attract those who are eager to share the rich narratives woven into the heart of every piece.

While strategic marketing, product excellence, and community building will be required (domains also in the purview of Nakada Design), we have laid the foundational vision for a cult brand.

Cratify is a portmanteau of crate and gratify, fusing the vessel for exquisite imports with the pure gratification of uncovering something truly special.

The logo nods to the rich heritage of global trade by adopting the very typeface traditionally stamped on wooden shipping crates. The three horizontal lines evoke the sturdy wooden planks that journey across oceans to transport treasures from afar.

The secondary logo has been optimized for smaller applications like Instagram while still remaining instantly recognizable to its fans:
